Visit a Revived Middlebury Farm Stand
We’re bringing Middlebury’s former Field Farm back to life and back in service for Route 7 travelers and the local community in Addison County, Vermont. Through soil regeneration, pasture rotation, and expanding the market gardens, we strive to raise healthy, sustainable, fresh food that is free from harmful pesticides & herbicides for our local community and ourselves.
Where to Find Us
South of Downtown Middlebury on Route 7
Locals may remember this idyllic little farm as the Field Farm. A Middlebury welcome wagon of sorts for travelers heading north on Route 7 from Rutland and beyond, and surrounded by hay fields and mountain vistas looking East. The farm has a great indoor farm stand and commercial kitchen, harkening from a number of farmers over the years growing, cooking, and purveying their wares amid sprawling tidy market gardens and quaint, ancient small barns. As your hosts, we look forward to welcoming you and being your neighborhood farm stand.
Farm Stand Hours
CLOSED until Spring 2021.
What We Grow
Pumpkins and gourds were all the rage on the farm for 2020, but we plan to grow a variety of high quality vegetables, fruits, herbs, and flowers in 2021, for the farm stand as well as our CSA. We’ll also have colorful eggs produced by our pastured laying hens, and we’re currently accepting pre-orders for whole hogs for Fall 2021 delivery.
Who We Are
Next Chapter Farm LLC is owned and operated by Lara Dickson, the voice of this website. I started raising pigs in 2015 in Berlin, Vermont, and in 2019 finally settled on the outskirts of Middlebury at the former Field Farm. My sister and 12 year old niece arrived in 2019 to round out the venture, and are excited to embark on the “next chapter” of their own lives amid piglets, baby chicks, and seedlings. As your farmer, I look forward to meeting you…and feeding you!
